# Google Analytics

You can track your form's data via Google Analytics or GA4 easily in Whatsform.
This will help you understand how visitors are interacting with the form. Here
are the steps to push the data into Google Analytics.

GET THE TRACKING ID

Login to Google Analytics and choose Setup Assistant under Admin (Gear-shaped
icon).

Click on the check mark next to Collect website and app data, then click on
Manage Data Streams.

Choose your stream from the list.

Copy the Measurement ID.

PASTE THE TRACKING ID

Go to your form's Settings and then click on Integrations to see all integration
options. Choose Google Analytics.

Paste the tracking ID and click on Add.

TEST EVENT CREATION

Go to your WhatsForm and fill out the form a couple of times.

REAL TIME EVENTS

WhatsForm creates two types of Events for every conversation. The Event
Category for both Events will be the unique ID of the chatbot.

The Event Actions are:

 1. WhatsformView This event is triggered whenever the Whatsform URL is visited.
This event is triggered without particular user action, and hence it will be
recorded as a non interaction event
    [https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/analyticsjs/events#non_interaction_events].

 2. WhatsformSubmit - This event is triggered when a user submits the form.

On your Google Analytics Dashboard, go to Reports > Realtime to see these events
live as you are testing.

Note

While testing Google Analytics yourself, please note that browser extensions
like Ad Blockers can prevent the events from being sent to Google Analytics.

Tip

If your WhatsForm is embedded on your website (Embed WhatsForm on a website
[https://whatsform.com/help/article/1037-embed-whatsform-on-a-website]), Google
Analytics cannot track the events due to a technical limitation. If you need a
technical solution for the same, please contact our support team
[https://whatsform.com/help/contact]. [https://whatsform.com/help/contact]

Google Analytics can track events when the WhatsForm is shared as a URL (Share
WhatsForm URL [https://whatsform.com/help/article/1009-share-whatsform-url]) or
added as a widget (Add WhatsForm as a widget to a website
